Ruth’s degree from Framingham State in Early Childhood Education and psychology was the perfect preparation for her life’s work as a teacher. After being a permanent sub for two years, she retired temporarily from teaching to become a full time mom in 1977. Seven years later, she returned to teaching as a teacher assistant at MWS when her second child enrolled in 1984. From 1986 to 2009, she was a lead teacher of 4’s and 5’s, working both as a solo teacher and team teacher of her various classes. In January 2000, Ruth took on the role of co-Director of the school with Pat McClure and enjoyed the best of both worlds–teaching and directing–until 2009 when she reluctantly gave up teaching a class to spend more time helping her son and daughter with their expanding families. A resident of Lexington since 1978, Ruth also enjoys reading, crocheting, supporting her husband’s town activities and spending time with her six wonderful grandchildren.
